Fr. John joined us as rector of Good Shepherd in September 2025. He comes with a wealth of ministerial and life experiences. Born in the mountains of Tennessee, he spent most of his adult life in South Louisiana where he served as a pastor in another denomination. He lived for 7 years in Bulgaria and Lithuania where he was a missionary, professor, and orphanage worker. He was ordained as an Episcopal priest in January of 2021. John believes his call in life is to make God’s love known to all people. His underlying philosophy is to love more and fear less.

John loves being outdoors because it draws his attention away from himself to focus on the wonder of God’s mystery and love. Hiking, camping, and mountain biking are all passions which fill his soul. He also loves woodworking and “piddling” in his shop.​
